The Reset Embroidery Archive

This collection is the result of my journey experimenting with two mediums I’ve felt curious all my life. Colors and thread.
I’m inspired by nature and the colorful environment of the Colombian Andes where I was born. I like to mix vibrant colors with calm minimal lines and compositions that reflect the calm involved in embroidery.
I enjoy the lack of predictability in this practice. Colors and patterns, even when chosen carefully, will only be seen in complete harmony once stitched to the textiles. A piece can be seen just after patiently putting together all the elements.

All the pieces are handmade from original patterns designed by me

Embroidered tshirt with 21 animals

Nothing like learning about animals to feed a curious kid's imagination. Often my embroidery sessions are combined with listening to bird podcasts or watching animal documentaries. In this piece I picked 21 animals that have special meaning for me, some of them are just so pretty, some of them I would like to meet, and some of them I’ve already met and love.

It took me almost two years to complete this collection. Every illustration is original, I drew inspiration from vintage postcards and zoological drawings. The thread used is Coloris by DMC, a skein that combines four complimentary colors that change throughout its length. It was truly an exercise of patience and relaxation, the result is a piece that with a psychedelic vibe has the power of putting a smile on everyone's face.

Ladybugs are often seen as talismans of luck. In this case I decided to carry one in my chest to be a self-reminder that things that can be scary are often the ones that make me evolve.

Last year I re-started practicing yoga. This piece is an statement to mindfully get into the practice's mood.

This series was an experiment, I wanted to use paper as the medium for my stitches. I choose simple shapes that could be made using flat styles.

The Poporo is the most iconic piece at Museo del Oro and a perfect example of the pre-Columbian goldsmith. I wanted to explore its symmetry and roundness using the diamond gold thread from DMC.

Stories Bookmark

This series was made upcycling old scraps of fabric. I used it to make bookmarks with simple positive quotes that reflect on the meaning of the reading practice.

As a kid within a seamstress family, I was used to having my name stitched into everything I own. I used to think it was boring, but with time I came to realise the sophistication level of owning this kind of pieces.

These are everyday-use objects turned into unique pieces by stitching my initials and the Reset Embroidery's logo.

Embroidery has invaded all parts of my life, and travelling is proudly one of those. This backback wen from anonymous to statement piece inspired on my passion for maps and globes and an on-the-go light tool to pick new destinations.
